Behind The Artist

Who I am

Hi! My name is Meghan and I am the artist behind Perilune Art. I am mainly a self taught artist, and have been doing art for as long as I can remember.

The Psychology in Art

I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and find it to be incredibly interesting topic. How people think, why they behave the way they do, how we can change, etc..
I try to incorporate psychological concepts into my piecesas much as I can.
I've also struggled with my mental health (especially PTSD) and I find art to be an incredible outlet for processing trauma, expressing my experience/emotions, and healing.
You may have noticed that a lot of my work is incredibly detailed. I love to get lost in the details. It provides my anxiety a space to gain control, and my ADHD a space to hyperfocus.

Why Art is Important

I believe that art is highly undervalued, despite it being in every aspect of life. Art is a beautiful way to explore the world around us and to experience someone else's culture, mind, journey, history etc. It is also a great way to understand human history- without art history, our understanding of human history would be rather small.

My Hope for My Art

My hope is that when others see my work they will be able to place their own interpretations to it. At the very least I hope my art invokes some kind of emotion, feeling or thought - as all art does.

Thank You for looking at my art! If you would like to contact me please check my "contact" page or send me a message on twitter. (@PeriluneArt).
